Special points to note
- Asked specific questions to determine if DSM-IV criteria is met
- Rule out substance abuse/medical condition OR withdrawal
i.e. medication, drug, medical history
- MUST assess:
* Social support (i.e. social history)
* Functional impairment
* Homicidal risk/suicidal risk (present and past ideations/attemps)
- Also consider personality disorder
- Find out predisposing factors, precipitating factors, and perpetuating factors
- Collateral history if possible
