Plasma = fluid portion of the blood

Serum = When whole blood is allowed to clot and the clot is removed, remaining fluid is serum

Serum has the same composition as plasma except
* Fibrinogen, factor 2, 5, 8 have been removed
* Serotonin level is higher due to platelet breakdown
