Bernoulli principle

Total energy content of a body of gas remains constant.

Total energy = kinetic energy + potential energy

As velocity increases, pressure decreases

Does not apply to turbulent flow

Venturi effect

Application of Bernoulli principle

As radius of tube decreases and velocity of gas increases, pressure on lateral wall decreases.
