CVS adverse effects

  • QT prolongation
  • Torsade de pointes
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Ventricular tachycardia

Other side-effects

  • Hyperprolactinaemia
  • Hypotension
    * Due to alpha1-antagonism
  • Extrapyramidal effects
  • Dysphoria (dose-related)
  • Blackboxed in US due to possible link to sudden cardiac death
  • Anti-nausea effect is greater than anti-emetic effect
